The Valmy Biats Syndicate is an experience syndicate which will give you exclusive access to behind the scenes for a year (January to December) as well as the opportunity to get up close to Valmy himself at yard visits. Bred by Philippe Brivios at Biats Stud in France, he is a half-brother to 5* winner Oslo Biats. He moved to Emily’s yard near Chester in 2020. Since then they have quickly progressed to become one of the most exciting combinations in British Eventing.

They started their 2023 campaign with a win in the 4*S Grantham Cup at Thorseby International, beating combinations such as Lordships Graffalo and Banzai Du Loir. Having returned to Badminton for a second time, Emily chose to retire during the Cross Country due to the gruelling ground conditions. That decision allowed them to re-route to Luhmuhlen were they delivered a fantastic 28.4 dressage to sit in the top 5.

After a mid-season break Emily targeted a first British five star completion at Burghley, with prep runs at Burgham and Gatcombe. Burgham resulted in another podium finish and unfortunately Gatcombe was cancelled after the dressage this however did not stop them delivering a superb performance at Burghley. An unfortunate frangible pin kept them out of contention but Valmy once again proved himself to be a cross country machine making light work of the very challenging course.

Looking ahead to 2024 Emily is keen to get that Badminton completion having come so close in 2022 and proven Valmy is a true 5* horse.
